action

Five-year-old Lizuca, who after her mother's death lives with her grandparents near a forest, is one day brought to her father's home and to the stepmother's loveless surroundings. When her father is in Bucharest for a long time , Lizuca decides to run away to return to her grandparents. Together with her dog Patroklos, she gets into the enchanted oak forest, where she lies down to sleep in the hollow of an old willow tree in the evening .

A short time later, Patroclus begins to speak and chases after a hare. The following Lizuca then meets a magical little man who tells her about a big meeting. On this evening all residents of the magic forest will gather. First, a red-clad woman and the seven dwarfs as well as Lizuca's grandparents arrive, who tell the girl that (due to the insistence of the stepmother) her father wants to sell the forest. Many other inhabitants of the forest are added, including the queen ant, the queen bee, the sunflower queen "sister of the sun" and some giants. The stepmother and her entourage also appear as a black sorceress. A court is held under the chairmanship of the fairy of imagination to decide whether the sale of the forest is lawful or not. After all parties have taken a position, the forest is awarded to the people and residents of the area. The black sorceress, on the other hand, is chased out into space.

That night the grandparents are led by Patroclus to the tree hole where they find Lizuca sleeping. The next morning the stepmother appears at the grandparents' house. She wants to take Lizuca back with her, but grandfather has decided never to leave Lizuca away.
