Cornelia Molnar b. Vaida (born November 26, 1983 in Târgu Mureș ) is a Croatian table tennis player . She took part in the 2004 and 2012 Olympics.
Career
Cornelia Molnar achieved her first international successes at youth tournaments. In 1997 she reached the final at the European Youth Championship (Cadets) in doubles with Luca Balas, and a year later she won the doubles competition with the same partner. In 2000 she was European youth champion singles and mixed with Ohad Paniel, in 2001 she won silver in mixed with Constantin Cioti .
In the adult category, she took part in nine world championships since 2003 (until 2013) , but never came close to medal ranks. In 2003 and 2005 she was second with the Croatian team at the European Championships, in 2010 and 2011 she was without a European Championship medal.
In 2004 she qualified for participation in the single and double competitions of the Olympic Games . In the individual, she failed in the first round against the Australian Jian Fang Lay from China . In doubles with Tamara Boroš , she reached the quarter-finals by winning against Renáta Štrbíková / Alena Vachovcová (Czech Republic) and Csilla Bátorfi / Krisztina Tóth (Hungary), where she lost to the Korean doubles Kim Bokrae / Kim Kyung-ah .
In 2012 she took part again in the Olympic Games , this time only in an individual competition. This time she survived the first round by defeating the American Lily Zhang . In the second round she lost to Kim Jong from North Korea.
With the Hungarian club Budaörsi SC Cornelia Molnar played in the 2010/11 season in the Superliga and in the 2012/13 season in the Champions League .
