Costantino Cristiano Luna Pianegonda

Costantino Cristiano Luna Pianegonda OFM (born December 19, 1910 in Recoaro Terme , Veneto , Italy , † September 1, 1997 ) was an Italian religious and bishop of Zacapa in Guatemala .

Life

Costantino Cristiano Luna Pianegonda joined the Congregation of the Franciscan at and received on July 1, 1934, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on November 30, 1955 as the first bishop of the 1951 diocese of Zacapa . The Apostolic Nuncio in Guatemala, Archbishop Gennaro Verolino , donated him his episcopal ordination on January 6 of the following year. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Guatemala , Mariano Rossell y Arellano , and the Bishop of Verapaz, Cobán , Raymundo Julian Martín OP .

He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

Pope John Paul II accepted his early resignation on February 16, 1980.
