Cosumnes River AVA (recognized since July 17, 2006) is a wine-growing region in the US state of California . The area spans the two administrative areas of San Joaquin County and most of Sacramento County . The protected designation of origin is a sub-zone of the superordinate Lodi AVA . The area is at an altitude of 2 m (5 ft) to 15 m above sea level. NN . The frequent fog that lingers long in these lowlands makes the Cosumnes River AVA the coolest area within Lodi.
