Coumatetralyl is a flammable colorless solid which is practically insoluble in water. It decomposes at temperatures above 172 ° C.

use

Coumatetralyl is used as a rat and mouse control agent ( rodenticide ). It belongs to the same group as warfarin and is a first generation anticoagulant . This means that the substance prevents blood clotting, so that the target organism dies of internal bleeding 5 to 10 days after ingesting the active substance.

Admission

With the exception of rodenticides, no plant protection products containing coumatetralyl as an active ingredient are permitted in EU countries such as Germany, Austria or Switzerland.
