The Couze d'Ardes (just called Couze in the estuary ) is a river in France that runs in the Puy-de-Dôme department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It has its source in the Cézallier Mountains, in the municipality of Anzat-le-Luguet . The source is located on the Chamaroux Pass and is in the Volcans d'Auvergne Regional Nature Park . The river generally drains in a north-easterly direction and flows into the Allier after 39 kilometers at Le Breuil-sur-Couze as a left tributary .
