Craig Berkey
Craig Berkey (born June 18, 1962 in Burnaby , British Columbia , Canada ) is a Canadian sound engineer and sound engineer . Since 1990 he has worked in over 180 films and has been nominated for an Oscar three times .
Life
Berkley graduated from high school and worked for a while as a classical guitar teacher and played in a rock band. He then worked for the Canadian telephone company BC Tel . He eventually gave up that job to study sound design at Columbia Academy Broadcasting School . He already taught there during his studies. He made his debut as a sound engineer on an episode of the television series Mom PI. Since that time he has worked on more than 150 films. For his work on the films True Grit and No Country for Old Men , he was nominated three times for Oscar. He won a CAS Award from the Cinema Audio Society Awards for each of these films . For his work on the animated series Spawn , he received two Golden Reel Awards from the Motion Picture Sound Editors . One of his biggest projects was the drama The Tree of Life , which he worked on for two years.
