Cristián Alejandro Cuevas Jara (born April 2, 1995 in Rancagua ) is a Chilean football player on the position of a left defender and a left wing.
Career
society
Cuevas began his youth with CD O'Higgins and made his debut shortly after he turned 16 against the CSD Colo-Colo in May 2011.
In November 2012 it became known that Cristián Cuevas had been negotiating with Chelsea for some time . After convincing the club, an agreement was reached with Chelsea. He stayed with O'Higgins for the remainder of the 2012/13 season and should have played regularly for the club's first team.
On July 23, 2013 the transfer was confirmed and it was loaned to Vitesse Arnhem in the Netherlands , where he was used for the reserve team in the Beloften Eredivisie . During the winter break of the 2013/14 season he went to the second division club FC Eindhoven to get more match practice.
In July 2014 he was awarded to the CF Universidad de Chile in his homeland in Chile , where he did not get much playing time and therefore returned to Chelsea after one season.
In the 2015/16 season he was loaned to the Belgian club VV St. Truiden . In August 2016 it was awarded again to the Belgians for one season.
After the 2016/17 season he left Chelsea and switched to CD Huachipato , which loaned him to FC Twente Enschede in the Netherlands in August 2017 . With Twente he was relegated from the Eredivisie at the end of the season .
In July 2018 it was awarded to the Austrian Bundesliga club FK Austria Wien . After his return a year later, he played his first roles for CD Huachipato .
National team
Cuevas took in 2013 with the Chilean U-20 team at the World Cup in part. He was eliminated with Chile in the quarterfinals against Ghana . Cuevas was used in four of the Chileans' five games.
In April 2013 he stood against Brazil for the first time in the squad of the senior team . He made his debut for this in June 2018 when he came on for Nicolás Castillo in a friendly against Poland in the 87th minute .
