Cristian Palacios , full name Cristian Martín Palacios Ferreira , (born September 2, 1990 in Belén or Salto ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.70-meter-tall offensive player is under contract with Peñarol , where he has been part of the first division squad since at least the Apertura 2009, in which he played the first two games in the Primera División during his first career phase with the Aurinegros . He made his first division debut on September 12, 2009 in the game against the Racing Club .

In his debut season he became Uruguayan champion in 2009/10. Before he moved to Central Español in January 2011 by way of a loan deal, he had six more appearances (one goal) during Apertura 2010 and three in the Copa Sudamericana . He then took off at his new club and scored a total of 15 goals in 14 Clausura games in 2011. In doing so, he also secured the title of Torneo Clausura's top scorer.

In July 2011, Palacios returned to the black and yellow, completed three league games in the Apertura 2011, remained without a goal and was passed on in January 2012 by way of another loan to the Argentine club Atlético Tucumán . At the Nacional B club, he played 19 second division games in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons and twice overcame opposing goalkeepers. Still under contract with Peñarol, his third engagement followed on loan when he joined the Uruguayan surprise team of the first half of the season El Tanque Sisley for Clausura 2013 . For that club, nine appearances and two goals were recorded in that half-series. In the Apertura 2013 he played eleven other first division games (no goal). He also played in two games of the 2013 Copa Sudamericana .

In mid-January 2014 he joined the Ecuadorian club CD Olmedo on loan . For the Ecuadorians he played in 40 league games and scored nine goals. At the beginning of 2015, he returned to Peñarol. Even before the start of the Clausura, it was awarded to league rivals Juventud in early February 2015 . By the end of the 2014/15 season he was used 14 times in the Primera División at the club from Las Piedras and scored 13 times in the opposing goal. In July 2015, he was reintegrated into Peñarol's squad. In the 2015/16 season he contributed to winning the national championship with 17 league games and five goals. He also played five games (no goal) of the Copa Libertadores 2016 . In August 2016 he was loaned to Club Atlético Temperley . For the Argentines, he played in ten league games (no goal). In mid-January 2017, the Montevideo Wanderers signed him on loan. In the current 2017 season he played 20 top division games and scored 19 goals. He also scored twice in three appearances in the 2017 Copa Libertadores . He returned to Peñarol at the end of July 2017.

National team

Palacios was part of the Uruguayan U-20 selection . There he came in August 2009 in preparation for the U-20 World Cup in Egypt in 2009 under coach Diego Aguirre in the game against Montevideo Wanderers and scored one goal in the 2-3 defeat.
