history

After Cruzeiro had set up a women's team for the first time in 1983 for a short time, the professional organization of a football section for women was not tackled until October 2018 in order to meet the criteria of the continental association CONMEBOL for participation in the Copa Libertadores , which will now apply from 2019 the participating clubs are expected to maintain a corresponding section. The A-squad built for this was officially presented on February 27, 2019 by club president Wágner Pires de Sá. Hoffmann Túlio Coelho Batista, who the year before had been the trainer for the women of local rival América Mineiro, was the first coach to be signed .

Cruzeiro's first mandatory league game on March 27, 2019 was lost 2-1 away at EC Taubaté . The first goalscorer in club history was Vanessa Lorrany Vieira Machado in the 89th minute. Liamara de Paulo became the club's first player to receive a red card in the 34th minute . In the first home game in the club's history at the Estádio das Alterosas on April 13, 2019, Cruzeiro celebrated his first win after a 7-0 win against Aliança FC from Goiás . By qualifying for the semi-finals, the club achieved promotion to the Série A for the 2020 season . The team reached the final, but lost to São Paulo 4-0 and 1-1.

In the national championship of Minas Gerais , the club made its debut in the 2019 season on September 29, 2019. Against Ipatinga FC , the club was able to win 8-0.
