Csenger is a Hungarian city and the seat of the Csenger County in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County . It lies on the Somesch and on the border with Romania .
history
Csenger was founded at the time of the Árpáden . The name was first mentioned in 1219 in the Váradi Regestrum . Since 1429 the place was called a city. From 1576 the place became the center of the church district, where its meetings took place.
