Carlos Cuadras (born August 24, 1988 in Guamúchil , Mexico ) is a Mexican professional boxer and current undefeated WBC world champion in super flyweight .

Amateur career

In 2003 Cuadras won the light flyweight gold medal at the Cadet World Championships by winning the final over Luis Guamaniza . The following year he again took part in the Cadet World Championships and won in the flyweight division by defeat in the final against Roberto Figueroa only silver.

In 2007 he was third in bantamweight at the qualifying tournament for the Pan American Games and thus won bronze. At the Pan American Games, which were played in Rio de Janeiro in the same year , he was gold medalist with a victory over the Dominican.

Professional career

Cuadras won his first 13 fights all by knockout . In his 15th fight, he secured the WBC Youth Intercontinental Title against his compatriot Oswaldo Rodriguez . He competed against Johnny Garcia on September 24, 2011 for the vacant WBC Continental Americas Title in a 12-round fight and won in the second round by technical knockout.

He also won against the Colombian by TKo in the following year and won the silver title of the WBC. He defended this against Fernando Lumacad in the same year and against Victor Zaleta the following year . On May 31, 2014, he competed against the reigning WBC world champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai for the title and dethroned him. He defended this belt twice in the same year, once against Jose Salgado (balance 34-2-1-) with a draw and once against Marvin Mabait (balance 19-2-2-) with TKo

In 2015 he defended his belt against Luis Concepción (record 32-3-0) over 12 rounds unanimously and clearly on points and against Dixon Flores with a knockout victory in round 5.
