Cui Xijun ( Chinese 崔 玺 钧 , Pinyin Cuī Xǐjūn ; born January 24, 1985 ) is a Chinese ice hockey player who has been under contract with KRS Heilongjiang in the Russian Vysschaja Hockey League since 2017 .
Career
Cui Xijun began his career as a hockey player with the team from Qiqihar , for which he made his debut in the Asia League Ice Hockey in 2005 . Also in the 2006/07 season, when the team called themselves Changchun Fu'ao , he was on the ice in the Asia League. When Changchun Fu'ao merged with Hosa , the team from Harbin in 2007 , to form the new Chinese professional team China Sharks (today: China Dragon ), Cui switched back to the amateur field and played again for the team from Qiqihar in the Chinese league from 2011 to 2015 . In 2010 and 2013 he and his team became Chinese national champions. In 2015 he moved to China Dragon and played for this team again in the Asia League. After the team was disbanded in 2017, Heilongjiang from the Russian Vysschaya Hockey League signed the newly founded KRS .
International
For China, Cui Xijun took part in the junior division of the U18 World Championship of the Asia-Oceania Division in 2002 and the U20 World Championship of Division II in 2005 .
For the men's national team , however, the attacker only made his debut at the age of 30 at the 2015 World Cup in Division II , when he and the team from the Middle Kingdom achieved promotion from group B to group A. As the second best scorer (together with New Zealander Nicholas Henderson ) behind the Bulgarian Ivan Chodulow, he himself contributed significantly to this success. At the 2016 World Cup, however , he missed relegation with the team from the Middle Kingdom in the A group of Division II and was relegated back to the B group. He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 and the Winter Asian Games 2017 .
