Ivan Kirilow Chodulow ( Bulgarian Иван Кирилов Ходулов ; born September 4, 1994 in Veurne , Belgium ) is a Bulgarian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK CSKA Sofia in the Bulgarian ice hockey league since 2017 . His father Kiril Chodulow was also a Bulgarian national ice hockey player.

Career

Ivan Khodulov, who was born in Belgium, where his father was active at the time, began his career as a hockey player at HK CSKA Sofia , with whose U16 team he won the Bulgarian championship in 2010. After this success he moved to the ŠHK 37 Piešťany , for which he competed first with the U18 and then with the U20 team in the second highest Slovak division of the respective age group. In 2012/13 he also played again for HK CSKA Sofia in the Bulgarian league and won the army club's first national championship title in 27 years. In 2013 he left the ŠHK 37 Piešťany and played four games for the Russian club Dynamo Saint Petersburg in the multinational youth league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga . The season 2014/15 he spent at FC ŽALGIRIS in the Junior Hockey League Championships . Two years in North America followed, where he was on the ice for the Kingsville Kings in the Greater Montreal Hockey League and for the St. Clair Shores Fighting Saints in the Federal Hockey League . He has been back at HK CSKA Sofia since 2017, for whom he now plays in the Bulgarian ice hockey league.

International

In the junior division, Khodulov played for Bulgaria in Division III of the U-18 World Championships in 2010 , 2011 , when he was named the best player of his team, and in 2012 and the U-20 World Championships in 2010 , 2011 and 2013 , when he was the best scorer and Was the tournament's goalscorer and was also named the best player on his team.
