Curt Josef Sjöberg (born January 26, 1897 in Stockholm , † April 12, 1948 there ) was a Swedish gymnast and diver .

Life

His clubs were the Stockholms GF from Täby and the SoIK Hellas from Nacka .

At the Olympic Summer Games in Antwerp in 1920 he took part in the team all- round competition in apparatus gymnastics in the so-called Swedish system. The all-around competition in the Swedish system was part of the Olympic Games program in 1912 and 1920. He won the gold medal in 1920 with the Swedish team, which consisted of 24 gymnasts.

At the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris , Curt Sjöberg took part as a diver from the 3-meter board and qualified there with a third place in the qualifying round for the final, in which he finished seventh. At the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam , he did not get beyond the qualifying round in jumping.

Sjöberg wasn't the only gymnast who switched to diving. Edmund Lindmark also took part in the Summer Games for Sweden in 1920 as a gymnast and in 1924 and 1928 as a diver.
