From 1930 Voigt lived and worked with his wife in Liegau-Augustusbad. As an artist he was also known beyond the Dresden area and recognized in the Dresden art scene. A large collection of his silhouettes and drawings is kept in Radeberg Castle Klippenstein . Many of his works are also in the possession of the Dresden State Art Collections and are privately owned. His main motifs included cities, churches, marketplaces and castles, but also motifs with children and depictions of landscapes, particularly from the Radeberger Land .

His 20-part fairy tale cycle The Brave Little Tailor was exhibited in 1927 under the direction of Oskar Seyffert in the State Museum for Saxon Folk Art in Dresden, whose director at that time Seyffert was. In 1959, a major exhibition with 63 of his works took place in Klippenstein Radeberg Castle. Another exhibition entitled Bearded Man - Historical and Contemporary Silhouettes , in which many of Voigt's works were shown, took place from November 2019 to March 2020.
