Cuthbert Victor (born January 30, 1983 on the island of Saint Croix ) is a basketball player from the US Virgin Islands . He currently plays at Krasny Oktyabr Volgograd in Russia on the position of the forwards .
Career
college
Victor played for the Murray State Racers from Murray State University from 1998 to 2004 . He led his team in the 2002 and 2004 play-offs of the American University Championship . After the 2004 season, he was named Player of the Year in the Ohio Valley Conference .
professional
After Victor was not selected in the NBA draft 2004, he moved to Europe and played the first few years for various Spanish clubs in the LEB . With Menorca Bàsquet he was promoted to the ACB league in 2010 . He played another year in the first Spanish league and then moved to Russia to Spartak Primorye . After the end of the PBL in 2012, Victor moved to Le Mans and played in the French championship and the Eurocup . After a year in France, Victor moved back to Russia for the 2012/13 season to join the VTB United League Krasny Oktjabr .
National team
Since his debut at the Central American Championships in 2003, he has played for the US Virgin Islands national basketball team . Also in 2003 he played the qualification for the Olympic Games, but could not qualify with his team for. By finishing second at Centrobasket 2006, the US Virgin Islands qualified for the 2007 American Basketball Championship , in which Victor also took part. He was able to repeat this success with his team in 2008 and was thus a participant in the 2009 American Basketball Championship . He last played for his country at Centrobasket in 2011.
