Cvrtkovci ( Serbian Cyrillic : Цвртковци) is a village in Opština Stanari , in the Republika Srpska in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina .

geography

Cvrtkovci is located in Opština Stanari, in the Republika Srpska, in northern Bosnia . The Republika Srpska, along with the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina , is one of the two entities of the south-eastern European country. Cvrtkovci is not far from the entity boundary at an altitude of 212 m above the Adriatic Sea .

Three smaller rivers flow through the village area, the Ilova , the Jelanjska and the Mlađenovac .

The neighboring villages of Cvrtkovci are: Jelanjska (in the east), Mitrovići (in the west), Raškovci (in the south), all three villages belong to the Stanari municipality and to the north the village of Pojezna which belongs to the Derventa municipality .

Until 2014, Cvrtkovci belonged to the Doboj municipality , when the new Stanari municipality was founded.

At the 2013 census, there were 653 people living in the village, compared to 897 in 1991, before the Bosnian War . The village is inhabited by Serbian Orthodox Serbs . The population of Cvrtkovci lives from animal husbandry, agriculture and fruit growing.

The population of the village professes the Serbian Orthodox Church. In the village is the Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Dimitri the Great Martyr , which was built from 1999 to 2009. There is also the Serbian Orthodox Mrsavci cemetery in Cvrtkovci, not far from the church .

Infrastructure

Cvrtkovci has the Desanka Maksimović primary school. The school is named after the famous writer Desanka Maksimović . There is also a memorial in the village for the soldiers and civilians from the village who died in the Bosnian War.
