Dániel Tőzsér (born May 12, 1985 in Szolnok ) is a Hungarian football player on the position of midfielder .

Career

Career start in Hungary and move to Istanbul

Tőzsér began his active football career in 1989 at the age of four in the offspring of Debreceni Vasutas SC . There he went through several youth league classes until 2003 and was in the club's professional squad during the 2002/03 season . In his one season with the professionals he was used once, but was also used in the Magyar Kupa , the Hungarian cup competition, where his team made it to the final. Shortly after the end of the season, Tőzsér signed a contract with Galatasaray Istanbul in the Turkcell Süper Lig , the highest football league in Turkey . There he could not assert himself and left the club after a season without commitment.

Ferencváros Budapest

After his stay in the metropolis of Istanbul , the young player returned to Hungary, where he signed a two-year contract with Ferencváros Budapest . In his first season he made 27 league appearances in which he scored one goal. The following season was no less successful, in which he scored two goals in 27 championship appearances. After good performance with the Hungarian record cup winners, he was made an offer by the Greek Super League club AEK Athens , which he subsequently accepted and again signed for two years.

AEK Athens

With the Greeks he celebrated some personal successes. Among other things, this was his qualification for and participation in the 2006/07 UEFA Champions League , in which he and his team played in all six Group H games against AC Milan , OSC Lille and RSC Anderlecht . At the end of the group stage they just failed to make it to the round of 16. After being eliminated from the competition, AEK Athens was automatically seeded for the round of 32 of the 2006/07 UEFA Cup in third place . But even there, the Greeks were unable to continue their successes and were eliminated after two legs with an overall score of 0: 4 against Paris Saint-Germain . In the league, the team reached second place in the table with a gap of nine points on Olympiacos Piraeus and was thus allowed to call themselves runner-up. In total, Tőzsér made 22 appearances in the league, two league goals and three assists .

During the 2007/08 season AEK Athens played again with the participation of Tőzsérs in the qualification for the Champions League 2007/08 , but was eliminated after a round trip against Sevilla FC , who won with an overall score of 6-1. However, the team was set as the loser in the third Champions League qualifying round for the first round of the 2007/08 UEFA Cup . After FC Red Bull Salzburg had been sent out of the competition with a total score of 3: 1, the team reached the group stage of the tournament, in which they were in Group C at FC Villarreal , AC Florence , FK Mladá Boleslav and how met IF Elfsborg . For the Belgians he was used in 25 league games, scoring two goals and an assist, where he was either a substitute or a substitute in 19 games. He also represented his club in the Belgian Cup until the final. There the team defeated KV Mechelen 2-0; Tőzsér came on as a substitute for defender Anele Ngcongca in the 77th minute of the game .

National team

Tőzsér made his first acquaintance with a Hungarian national football team in 1999 when he competed for Hungary's U-14 team for the first time. By 2000 he had two international appearances.

In 2005 he was nominated for the senior national team of his home country and then added to the squad. He made his debut on December 14, 2005 in Phoenix , Arizona , in a game against the Mexican national team , which Hungary lost 2-0. In 2007/08 he took part in qualifying for the European Championship in 2008 and came across one goal in seven appearances.
