The Délirium Café in Brussels is a bar that was included in the Guinness Book of Records for its extremely diverse range of beers .

Naming

The name comes from the flagship of the Belgian private brewery Huyghe in Melle , the strong beer Delirium tremens .

particularities

On January 9, 2004, the bar was entered in the Guinness Book of Records . On the cut-off date, beers were on sale in 2004, which was a world record in the largest selection of commercially available beers category . In 2014, more than 2,400 types of beer from more than 60 countries were offered. In the meantime, 3,162 beers were available - about thirty of them on tap - with which the Délirium Café again applied for the world record in the Guinness Book in 2013.

location

The Délirium Café is located in Getrouwheidsgang (Impasse de la Fidélité) near the Great Market , across from Jeanneke Pis . It is housed in a building from the 17th century. Several other bars are connected to the main Délirium Café in Brussels under the general name Delirium Village .

Délirium Café in Tokyo

Délirium cafés are now also available as part of a franchise system in Amsterdam , Cologne , Rouen , Nantes , Orléans , Rio de Janeiro , Tokyo , Clermont-Ferrand , Kuala Lumpur , Bergamo , Lisbon and Ibiza . Since May 2018 there has also been an offshoot in Vienna. Its offer and appearance are noticeably different from the Brussels model.
