Döschwitz is a district of the municipality of Kretzschau in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Döschwitz is between Zeitz and Naumburg (Saale) . The districts of Döschwitz, Gladitz, Hollsteitz and Kirchsteitz belonged to the former municipality.
history
On January 1, 2010, the previously independent municipalities of Grana and Döschwitz merged with the municipality of Kretzschau to form the new municipality of Kretzschau.

The federal highway 180 , which leads from Zeitz to Naumburg (Saale), runs directly through the municipality .
Hollsteitzer Grund industrial park
Thanks to rapid preparation, it was possible to refer to an approved development plan as early as 1991. In the same year companies settled there. This development continued, so that currently more than 67% of the area is occupied and further options are available. In the industrial area are meanwhile u. a. Steel construction work carried out, special vehicle bodies, glass transport devices, windows (made of wood and aluminum) and stairs as well as prams and dolls' prams produced. Supraregional trading and logistics companies for ceiling elements, insulation materials and stone artifacts as well as a motor vehicle workshop have set up shop.

The Schulze winery cultivates slopes on the Saale , Unstrut and Weißen Elster rivers .
Culture and club life
The most important folk festival in Döschwitz is the May setting . Every year at Pentecost, a cut birch is planted in front of each homestead.
In Döschwitz there are two associations that also organize the May setting: the volunteer fire brigade and the sports community Grün Weiß Döschwitz e. V. In the SG Döschwitz, founded in 1930, two bowling teams and five soccer teams (women, men and senior citizens) play. Since the 1970s, it has been a tradition in Döschwitz to hold a local tournament for the mayor's cup on Sundays.
