The DGB district Berlin-Brandenburg includes the federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg .
The district conference 2018 on January 20, 2018 elected Christian Hoßbach as the new district chairman. Sonja Staack was elected as deputy chairwoman.

The districts are the structural level of the DGB directly below the federal level (see the districts and regions section in the DGB article) and comprise one or more federal states.
The DGB district mainly serves to coordinate the member unions located in the area , or to external political representation and lobbying . It represents the social, economic, social and cultural interests of employees.
