The DGB district of Saxony comprises the federal state of Saxony . 273,504 union members are organized across the district.

The 8th district conference on December 16, 2017 elected Markus Schlimbach as the new district chairman. Anne Neuendorf was elected as deputy chairwoman.

The districts are the structural level of the DGB directly below the federal level (see the section Districts and Regions in the article on the DGB) and comprise one or more federal states. The DGB district mainly serves to coordinate the member unions located in the area , or to external political representation and lobbying . It represents the social, economic, social and cultural interests of employees.
