The DGB district Lower Saxony - Bremen - Saxony-Anhalt includes the federal states of Lower Saxony , Bremen and Saxony-Anhalt .
The DGB district sees itself as the "political voice of the trade unions", which represents "the interests of employees vis-à-vis political decision-makers, parties and associations in the three federal states of Lower Saxony, Bremen and Saxony-Anhalt". Around 900,000 union members are organized across the district.
The 5th district conference on February 3, 2018 elected Mehrdad Payandeh as the new district chairman. Susanne Wiedemeyer was (re) elected as deputy chairwoman.
meaning
The districts are the structural level of the DGB directly below the federal level (see the section Districts and Regions in the article on the DGB) and comprise one or more federal states. In the DGB regions - the level below the district - there are 61 city and district associations run on a voluntary basis, which shape trade union policy on site.
The DGB district mainly serves to coordinate the member unions located in the area , or to external political representation and lobbying . It represents the social, economic, social and cultural interests of employees.

- North-East Lower Saxony,
- Oldenburg-East Friesland,
- Osnabrück-Emsland,
- South Lower Saxony-Harz as well
- South East Lower Saxony;
- in Saxony-Anhalt:
- Altmark-Börde-Harz as well
- Halle-Dessau.

- Education and Science Union (regional associations: Lower Saxony; Bremen; Saxony-Anhalt)
- Union of food-pleasure-restaurants (districts: north; east)
- Union ver.di (districts: Lower Saxony-Bremen; Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia)
- IG Bauen-Agrar-Umwelt (regions: Lower Saxony; Weser-Ems; Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia and Saxony)
- IG Mining, Chemistry, Energy (districts: North; North-East)
- IG Metall (districts: Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt; coast)
