Dagmar Gelbke

Dagmar Gelbke (born July 20, 1950 in Leipzig ) is a German actress , cabaret artist and singer .

Life and accomplishments

Gelbke grew up as the daughter of an orchestra conductor in Saxony . Familiar with music at an early age, she won the 1959 show Herzklopfen gratis , a talent competition hosted by Heinz Quermann on GDR television. First she became a foreign language correspondent, learned stage dance at the Leipzig Technical School for Dance and finally went there in 1967 to study at the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig .

With a university degree and a singer's certificate, Dagmar Gelbke became a freelance artist in 1970. She performed in small and large cultural centers in the GDR (including the Friedrichstadt-Palast and Metropol-Theater (Berlin-Mitte) ) as well as in Eastern Europe with her programs. Together with Helga Hahnemann , she became known to a larger audience. Both performed as a comic duo on television shows and on theater stages for six years.

After the fall of the Wall , she initially worked as a photographer, secretary and ship entertainer - until in 1993 she became a member of the ensemble at the Berlin cabaret theater Kartoon (director: Peter Tepper). Since 1998 Dagmar Gelbke has been a permanent guest of the cabaret Die Oderhähne in Frankfurt (Oder) . There she initiated a revue in memory of Helga Hahnemann with the assistance of the artistic director Wolfgang Flieder.

In 2000 and 2001 she published two cookbooks in which prominent colleagues (including Dagmar Frederic and Frank Schöbel ) disclosed their recipes. She has also been writing monthly columns for the Berlin magazine jotw.d.

Gelbke lives on the outskirts of Berlin, she has a daughter.
