The Dagowsee is a small lake in the Brandenburg towns of Neuglobsow and Dagow (both districts of Stechlin ).
location
The lake is part of the Stechlin-Ruppiner Land nature park . In the south is the place Neuglobsow, in the east Dagow. To the west is the Great Stechlinsee 400 m away . The Petschsee is located about 1200 m to the northeast . The western and northern bank areas border on a forest area.
Use and research
The Dagowsee itself is primarily used for private fishing. In particular, carp , tench , bream , pike , eel , pikeperch , perch and catfish are said to be present there.
The eutrophic lake is a research object of the Leibniz Institute for Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries . Here four sections, each ten meters in diameter, were created, which are completely separated from the rest of the lake (in terms of water). Experiments with different states of the planktonic food web for oxygen saturation and microbiological processes are examined as well as the effectiveness of chemical precipitants for the restoration of lakes.
