Pandito Hambo-Lama Damba Ayusheyev (actually Vasily Borissowitsch Ajusheyev (Василий Борисович Аюшеев); born September 1, 1962 in Krasnokamensk Rajon of the Transbaikalia region , Chita Oblast ), is the head of the Buddhist Traditional Sangha of Russia , d. H. the spiritual teacher of the Russian Buddhists. It is the XXIV Pandita Hambo Lama , to whom he was elected in 1995. Its seat is the Ivolginsky Dazan monastery , about 35 kilometers from Ulan-Ude - the capital of the Russian republic of Buryatia in southeastern Siberia - a Buddhist monastery of the Gelug tradition of Tibetan-Mongolian Vajrayana Buddhism .
