Muchammad Sagitowitsch Rachimov ( Russian Мухаммад Загитович Рахимов ; scientific transliteration Muchammad Zagitovič Rachimov ; born March 18, 1956 in the village of Sretenka, Frunze Oblast , Kyrgyz SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian Mufti . Since 2010 he has been chairman and thus Mufti of the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of the Stavropol Region , a religious organization of the Muslims of Karachay-Cherkessia and Stavropol .

He was the head of one of the four major Muslim umbrella organizations in Russia, the Russian Association of Islamic Understanding (Rossijskaja assozijazija islamskowo soglassija / Российская ассоциация исламского согламслака кая исламского согласлаская associate associa .

He comes from a Karachay - Tatar marriage. From 1990 to 2006 he worked as an imam in Ust-Dscheguta Rajon , Karachay-Cherkessia . In 2006 he headed the main mosque in Pyatigorsk . He had first studied engineering. From 1983 to 1988 he studied in Bukhara , Uzbek SSR , at the Madrasa Mir-i-Arab , where he studied together with Akhmad Kadyrov (1951-2004), the Mufti of Chechnya .
