Russian Association of Islamic Consensus

The Russian Association of Islamic Accord ( russ. Rossiyskaya assozijazija islamskowo soglassija / Российская ассоциация исламского согласия / scientific Rossiyskaya Associacija islamskogo soglasija;.. Abbr РАИС / RAIS ) and the All-Russian muftiate (Всероссийский муфтият) is one of four major Muslim umbrella organizations in Russia . It was founded in 2010 "at the request of the government", "in competition with the Russian Muftiad ".

Muchammad Rachimow (see photo), the Mufti of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims in the Stavropol Region (Духовное Управление мусульман Ставропольского края; DUMSK), was at its head until 2013 as Grand Mufti .

The founding of this fourth muftiate had sparked resistance against the Kremlin among Russian Islamic leaders , such as Grand Mufti Rawil Gainutdin , the chairman of the Russian Mufti Council and the then Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of the European part of Russia (today the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of the Russian Federation ) :

Gainutdin said in an interview with the Tatar service of Radio Liberty (Свобода) that this muftiate was designed to prevent any process of an agreement. The new 'pocket muftis' who oppose the growth of Islam are just 'puppets' (куклами "puppets") who, like those working in government, such as the Islamophobe Grishin, did not hesitate to suppress Islam in Russia which was already taking place.
