Dana Grigorcea (born November 11, 1979 in Bucharest , Romania ; actually Caudia Dana von Grigorcea ) is a Swiss-Romanian writer and philologist.

Life

Dana Grigorcea studied from 1998 to 2002 at the University of Bucharest at the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​and Literature (MA in German and Dutch Philology). She then completed a semester abroad at the University of Ghent , Belgium, and studied theater and film directing at the Erasmus - University of Brussels . In 2004 she completed her master's degree (MA) in quality journalism at Danube University Krems .

Since then she has worked for the Austrian daily Kurier in Vienna, for Deutsche Welle (DW-Radio) in Bonn and for the television station Arte in Strasbourg. She is a producer of television and radio programs and has worked as a Germany correspondent for Romanian television and radio. From 2009 to 2011 she was responsible for the TV / Film division in media engineering at the HTW Chur . From 2011 to 2013 she was a lecturer in film at the Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK.

In 2002, Dana Grigorcea published travel stories from the Holy Land in the magazine of the Romanian Writers' Union , where she had spent a few months in a Romanian women's convent. In 2011 she made her debut with the novel Baba Rada , which she wrote in German and which was published by KaMeRu Verlag in Zurich. As early as 2003 she had started to write literary exclusively in German.

At the invitation of Hildegard Elisabeth Keller , Grigorcea took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize 2015 and won the 3sat Prize there .

Dana Grigorcea lives in Zurich with her husband, the writer Perikles Monioudis . They have a daughter and a son.
