The DDC breakdancers (Dancefloor Destruction Crew) is a breakdance - show group from Schweinfurt .
history
The group was founded in 1999 near Schweinfurt . At that time the DDC consisted of only four dancers, the first and then only breakdance beginners in the region. Since there was no b-boy scene in Schweinfurt at the time , the dancers taught themselves every step and movement by studying videos. The first training location was the Schweinfurt youth center, which, however, had to be left after allegedly damaging the floor. Hence the name Dancefloor Destruction Crew , in English " dance floor destruction group ".

Starting with small appearances and taking part in battles, the group developed steadily. As early as 2003, the DDC represented the Federal Republic at the “World Gymnastics Rada” in Lisbon , four years later the first world championship title followed. In 2010, the DDC made it to the semi-finals on RTL “ Das Supertalent ” and reached an audience of millions for the first time. Parallel to the sporting success, a separate management was founded and the group's marketing was professionalized.
Today the DDC consists mainly of full-time dancers who dance shows in German-speaking countries and increasingly also internationally. A good starting point was certainly winning the triple in 2012, so the DDC breakdancers won the TAF German Breakdance Championship, the IDO European Championship and, for the second time, the IDO World Championship. In the same year, the first full-length theater project was realized with “ Weg derelemente ”.
Just one year later, the DDC, together with the Berlin director and Echo Prize winner Christoph Hagel, combined classical music with breakdancing in their play " Breakin 'Mozart - Classic meets Breakdance ". A production that has since been played more than 190 times in Berlin's “ Wintergarten Varieté ” and performed in numerous other cities. Also in 2013 the group was awarded the “Golden Colibri” as “Europe's best dance show” with their show “ Swinging Breakdance ”. At the same time, with the founding of the company " DDC Entertainment GmbH & Co. KG ", a big step towards independence was taken. The breadth of the young company becomes clear in the four divisions of the company: DDC Breakdance - DDC Production - DDC Workshops - DDC Agency .
The DDC 2013 again attracted great media interest by participating in the first season of Got to Dance Germany , which was awarded the German Television Prize , where the group danced its way through to the finals. Other highlights followed, such as a show at the FC Bayern Munich Christmas party or an appearance on “Small versus Big - The Duel” on ARD . At the beginning of 2014, from February 20 to June 8, 2014, the first long-term engagement for the DDC followed with the first 100 performances of “Breakin 'Mozart” in the Berlin Wintergarten Varieté. With the idea of " Breakdance in Lederhosen ", the group developed a new unique show only a short time later and finally established the idea of the crossover as a trademark of the DDC. This show opened the doors to folk and hit music . On October 25, 2014, the DDC boys were guests of Florian Silbereisen for the first time in his program “20 Years of Celebrations - The Celebration for the Jubilee”. Since then, the guys can be seen again and again in the festival broadcasts on ARD.
In 2015 the DDC was invited again to the Berlin Wintergarten Varieté for a further 90 performances with the show "Breakin 'Mozart", and the international breakthrough followed. The DDC was a show act at the final of the Formula E racing series in London, presented Breakin 'Mozart on a Mediterranean cruise on the “ Mein Schiff 3 ” and opened the “Bavarian Week” in the German Pavilion at the Expo in Milan . From September 25th to October 8th, the DDC was at the “15. Wuqiao International Circus Fesitval "in China invited there Germany responsible. Here the DDC received a “Special Price for Excellent Performance” and its head statue on the Great Wall of China was chosen as picture of the day by several German magazines and newspapers.
In January 2016, the DDC was on tour at the “Feuerwerk der Turnkunst” and played in the largest halls in Germany with over 220,000 spectators. In addition, the DDC breakdancer was on stage with Florian Silbereisen along with other stars such as Vanessa Mai - Wolkenfrei , DJ Ötzi , Ross Antony , Feuerherz & Michelle on the tour “ The best of the festivals - the greatest hits of all time ”. At the YOUNG STAGE international circus festival in May 2016 in Basel, the DDC breakdancers won the coveted audience award and the special award from Circus Roncalli. The second joint DDC show with Christoph Hagel followed in September. This time, on behalf of the city of Schweinfurt , they brought Richard Wagner's music together with breakdancing for the late summer of Schweinfurt . The show got the title "Fuck You Wagner!" and was performed five times in Schweinfurt. In October, the DDC could also be seen together with Klubbb3 on the new major TV show "Schlagerbooom" by Florian Silbereisen on ARD. One of the most successful television shows with over six million viewers.
In December and around the turn of the year the show "Breakin 'Mozart" was played several times in various German cities. In addition, from December 20, 2016, the DDC was represented every Wednesday evening for 18 weeks at the "Adventure Night" in Serfaus and performed at an altitude of over 2000 meters. From March to May the DDC was again on tour through Germany with Florian Silbereisen. There were also DJ Ötzi , Klubbb3 , voXXclub & Sarah Jane Scott . At the end of May the new talent show "It's Showtime - The Battle of the Best" was broadcast on Sat1. Here the DDC won the third episode with its show "Breakdance in Lederhosen". At the beginning of June the DDC break dancers were guests on the MS Europa 2 and presented two new shows. Breakin 'Mozart was performed six times in the Prinzregententheater in Munich and six times in the Stadttheater Fürth in 2017. The show also premiered in Greece in Athens and Thessaloniki.
