Dane Ingham (born June 8, 1999 in Lismore , New South Wales ) is an Australian - New Zealand soccer player . The player is under contract with the Australian A-League club Perth Glory .

Career

societies

Ingham started playing football for the semi-professional Brisbane club Olympic FC and in 2015 moved to bigger city rivals Brisbane Roar , for whom his older brother Jai had already played. For Brisbane, he first played in the reserve team. He made his first appearance in the first team on January 31, 2017 in the second qualifying round of the AFC Champions League in a 6-0 win against the Philippine club Global FC . Brisbane then reached the group stage, but retired there from bottom of the table, with Ingham coming to three more appearances.

On February 11, 2017 he had his first league appearance in the first team at the game against Melbourne City FC , where he was in the starting line-up with the shirt number "50". Seven days later, he scored his first league goal in a 2-2 away game against Perth Glory, leading to a 2-1 lead.

In July 2019, the transfer to league rivals Perth Glory followed , where he was initially only used in the U-21 team.

National team

In March 2017, he and Jai received an invitation to the New Zealand national team , for which they are just as eligible to play due to their New Zealand-Samoan mother as they are for Australia, his father's country of birth and Samoa. His first appearance was on March 28th in the World Cup qualifier against Fiji . While Dane was in the starting XI, his brother came on in the 61st minute - also for his first international match.

In May he took part with the U-20 team at the U-20 World Cup in South Korea , where he played in the group matches against Honduras and Vietnam. The New Zealanders reached the second round in second place, but lost 6-0 to the USA. Ingham had already traveled to the senior team by then , as New Zealand coach Anthony Hudson nominated him for the 23-player squad that represented New Zealand at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup on May 26th . He was the youngest participant in the tournament. In the second group game against Mexico , he came to his first tournament appearance. This makes him the second youngest player in Confed Cup history, after team captain Chris Wood , who played in 2009 at the age of 17 years and six months. He was also used in the last group game in the 4-0 draw against European champions Portugal . In the finals of the OFC qualification for the 2018 World Cup , in which New Zealand qualified against the Solomon Islands for the playoff games against the CONMEBOL fifth, he was not part of the squad.
