Dani Litani , also Danny Litani, Danny Litany ( Hebrew דני ליטני), actually Dan Litowski ( Hebrew דן ליטובסקי), (born June 30, 1943 in Haifa ) is an Israeli musician and actor .

Life

He was born in Haifa with the name Dan Litowski. He began playing the piano at the age of six. He grew up in Jerusalem and then lived in the kibbutzim En haSchofet and Sha'ar HaAmakim, where he learned to play the accordion and guitar.

He returned to Haifa at the age of 17 and began listening to blues and soul during this time . There he founded the band ha-Krischim (הכרישים; Eng .: sharks). After his military service he founded the band ha-Rawakim (הרווקים; Eng .: bachelors).

Together with Danny Robas (דני רובס), Yoel Lerner (יואל לרנר) and Ori Harpaz (אורי הרפז) he formed the ensemble four by four (ארבע על ארבע) in 1999.

2001 Litani gave a joint concert with Danny Robas and a joint concert with the blues guitarist Ronnie Peterson. In 2007 he made a show with American guitarist Bucky Baxter. This included interpretations of Dylan's songs in addition to songs that Litani had composed himself.

In February 2008, his double album came Subtotal (סיכום ביניים) out. The content consisted of a documentation of the work from the 1970s. The album also contained the single Something to Fall Asleep (ונישן קצת), written and composed by his son Ron Litani. The single was also played on the radio.

He has also worked on dubbing children's cartoons including The Jungle Book , Dumbo , Ariel, the Mermaid , Governor Ratcliffe , Pocahontas and Robin Hood .
