Daniel Alexandersson (born December 3, 1978 ) is a Swedish football player . The younger brother of the multiple national player Niclas Alexandersson won the 2006 Swedish championship with IF Elfsborg . Lennart Alexandersson , the father of the two brothers, was active as a professional in the 1970s.

Career

Alexandersson came to Halmstads BK via Vessigebro BK and Falkenbergs FF , where he made his debut in the professional team in 1998. In 2000 he was awarded to Viborg FF in Denmark for some time , but returned to Sweden to continue his career at Falkenbergs FF. In 2002 he rose with the club in the Superettan , where he was able to score eleven goals in the 2003 season.

IF Elfsborg brought Alexandersson into the Allsvenskan in 2004. In his debut season he was still a substitute player and was only in the starting line-up in six games. From the 2005 season he was able to establish himself in the team and scored seven goals this season. With four goals in 25 games, he contributed in the 2006 season to the fifth Swedish championship title in the history of IF Elfsborg. In the following spring he also ran in the first ever Supercup , which was won after a goal by James Keene with a 1-0 win against the cup winners Helsingborgs IF .

On December 12, 2007 he signed a three-year contract with the reigning champions IFK Göteborg , where his brother Niclas was already under contract. In March he was a substitute at the Supercupen and with a 3-1 win over Kalmar FF he was able to enter the list of winners a second time. At IFK, among other things, he could not fight for a regular place due to injury and came to 21 league appearances in two years, where he was only six times in the starting line-up. So he left the club and returned to Falkenbergs FF one more time in January 2010 to play for the club in the Superettan.

In the second division season 2010 , Alexandersson was a regular at FFF for much of the season, but was slowed down by minor injuries. With ten goals this season he was the club's best internal goalscorer ahead of Erik Johansson and Stefan Rodevåg and thus one of the guarantors that the club was placed in the middle of the table.

In the spring of 2011 Daniel Alexandersson was forced to end his professional career early because, despite operations and treatments, the pain in the groin area caused by an injury did not improve. Since then he has been working in the family business, where machines for agricultural use are sold.
