Daniel Anthony Cronin (born November 14, 1927 in Boston ) is a Roman Catholic Senior Archbishop of Hartford .

Life

The Cardinal Vicar and Pro-Prefect of the Congregation for Rites , Clemente Cardinal Micara , ordained him on March 18, 1956 as a priest of the Archdiocese of Boston .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on June 10, 1968 auxiliary bishop in Boston and titular bishop of Egnatia . The Archbishop of Boston, Richard James Cardinal Cushing , donated him episcopal ordination on September 12 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishops in Boston Jeremiah Francis Minihan and Thomas Joseph Riley .

He was named bishop of Fall River on October 30, 1970, and inducted into office on December 16 of that year. He was named Archbishop of Hartford on December 10, 1991, and inducted into office on January 28 of the next year.

On October 20, 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
