Daniel Bashiel Warner (born April 19, 1815 in Maryland , USA , † December 1, 1880 in Liberia ) was an American-Liberian politician. He was the third President of Liberia from 1864 to 1868 . In 1847 he wrote the text of Liberia's national anthem .

Presidency

Warner ruled from 1864 to 1868. One of his most important political goals was to incorporate and integrate the tribal cultures in the hinterland of Monrovia into Liberian society so that productive citizens could emerge from them. For this he organized the first expedition into the dense forests behind Monrovia with JK Anderson . He ruled Liberia from January 4, 1864 to January 6, 1868.
