Daniel Edward Thomas
Daniel Edward Thomas (born June 11, 1959 in Philadelphia ) is an American clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Toledo .
Life
The Archbishop of Philadelphia, Cardinal John Joseph Krol , ordained him a priest on May 18, 1985 .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on June 8, 2006 titular Bishop of Floriana and Auxiliary Bishop in Philadelphia . The Archbishop of Philadelphia, Justin Francis Cardinal Rigali , donated him episcopal ordination on July 26 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were John Patrick Foley , President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications , and Edwin Frederick O'Brien , Military Archbishop of the United States .
On August 26, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Toledo . The inauguration took place on October 22 of the same year.
From December 28, 2016 to September 5, 2017, he was also Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Cleveland for the period of the Sedis vacancy .
