Daniel Gärtner (born August 26, 1979 in Flintsbach am Inn ) is a German lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences at the Technical University of Munich .

Life

At the age of 16, Daniel Gärtner took on his first coaching duties and shortly afterwards ran kickboxing and self-defense courses on his own . From 1998 he developed a training concept for kickboxing aerobics instructors with WAKO Germany .

From 1996 to 2008 Gärtner was a competitive athlete in kickboxing and freestyle karate . One of his greatest successes is the three-time world champion title in semi-contact kickboxing.

In 1998 Gärtner founded a show team with two martial arts colleagues. In addition to action-packed martial arts numbers, film-themed shows such as Matrix, Terminator, Kill Bill, James Bond or Spartacus are also part of the Martial Arts stage program .

He wrote his dissertation on the effects of different stretching methods in sports. The focus of his studies at the university is, in addition to mobility training, in the area of ​​fascia research.

Gärtner supervises and trains competitive athletes, leads workshops in martial arts, apparatus gymnastics and fitness, trains trainers and speaks as a speaker on sports science topics at seminars.

Gärtner acted as a sports science expert on television. For Galileo he checked film myths in the "Fake Check" and examined the effectiveness of various martial arts techniques in the documentary series Fight Science . For Welt der Wunder , Gärtner was involved in two reports on the topic of the human weapon in 2009 and 2010 . In 2016 he was seen as a sports science co-presenter at the side of Ruth Moschner in the new TV show " Ewige Helden " on VOX .

In addition, Gärtner was seen as an action performer in commercials and series. In the years 2004–2009 he doubled in the Star Force trailers for Pro 7 Michael Bully Herbig , Stefan Raab , Stefan Gödde , Jan Sosniok and Uri Geller .

Gärtner trains trainers in functional training, trains course leaders in workshops and seminars, and leads courses in fitness studios.

Journalism

Gärtner publishes scientific articles in specialist journals and gives tips on sports, exercise and nutrition in sports and leisure magazines. He published the fitness books Muscle Guide without Equipment (2014) and Functional Training (2015). In 2017 his new book Warrior Workout was published .

Daniel Gärtner regularly posts training tips, workouts and exercises on his YouTube channel. In 2009 he developed various training programs for the first German online fitness studio "Bodyboom".

In 2016 Daniel Gärtner published his fitness program Best Body with over 30 videos for training at home.
