history
In 1977 Georg F. Brückner and Gustav Baaden founded the WAKO Germany / Deutscher Kickboxverband in Berlin together with Jochen Böckmann, Peter Blankenburg, Gerd Lemmens and Mike Anderson. After financial problems, the association founded at the time had to file for bankruptcy in 1997. At the beginning of December 2017, WAKO Germany was accepted as a member of the German Olympic Sports Confederation .
