Daniel Hoffmann (born November 25, 1695 in Stuttgart , † April 6, 1752 in Tübingen ) was a professor of medicine in Tübingen.

Life

Hoffmann's appointment as professor of medicine in Tübingen began as a substitute after the sudden death of Burchard David Mauchart († April 11, 1751) due to a severe asthmatic attack. After that, Daniel Hoffmann and an associate professor of medicine, Christian Ludwig Mögling , held physiology and pathology classes while there were no pathology lectures. On May 16, 1718 he was elected a member ( matriculation no. 334 ) of the Leopoldina with the surname Niceratus .

His portrait, painted by Joseph Franz Malcote (1710–1791), still hangs in the Tübingen professors' gallery .
