Daniel Kimaiyo

Daniel Kimaiyo (born January 11, 1948 ) is a former Kenyan hurdler who specialized in the 400-meter distance .

In 1978 he first won the Pan-African Games in Algiers. Then he won the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton both over 400 m hurdles, where he set up his personal best of 49.20 s in the semifinals, as well as in the 4 x 400 meter relay .

In 1979 in Dakar he became the first African champion in his discipline. In the same year he was seventh at the Athletics World Cup in Montreal .
