Cristian Morton

Cristian Morton ( Amaechi Cristian Cuevas Morton; born October 30, 1989 ) is a Nigerian hurdler who specializes in the 400-meter distance and is also used in the 4-by-400-meter relay because of his sprint strength .

At the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin, he finished eighth in the Nigerian 4 x 400 meter relay.

In 2012 he won the African Athletics Championships in Porto-Novo over 400 m hurdles and in the 4 x 400 meter relay. At the Olympic Games in London he was disqualified over 400 m hurdles in the semifinals.

In 2014, the Nigerian relay team consisting of Tobi Ogunmola , Noah Akwu , Isah Salihu and Morton was eliminated from the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Sopot , despite an African record of 3: 07.95 minutes in advance. In the summer he was fifth in the 400m hurdles at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and came seventh with the relay. At the African Championships in Marrakech he won silver in both disciplines, and at the Athletics Continental Cup in Marrakech he was fifth in the 400m hurdles.

Starting for Stanford University , he was NCAA champion in the 400 m hurdles in 2012 .
