David Kitur

David Kitur (born October 12, 1962 ) is a former Kenyan sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .

At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, he reached the semifinals in the individual competition and in the 4-by-400-meter relay . The following year he won bronze at the 1985 African Athletics Championships in Cairo.

In 1987 he won silver at the Pan-African Games in Nairobi . At the World Athletics Championships in Rome he was sixth over 400 m, where he set his personal record in the semifinals with 44.73 s, and with the Kenyan team fifth in the 4 x 400 meter relay.

In 1990 he won the Kenyan 4 x 400 meter relay at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland and won silver at the African Championships in Cairo behind his younger brother Samson Kitur .

At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, ​​he was eliminated in the quarter-finals and was used in the run-up to the 4-by-400-meter relay. In the final, in which the Kenyan relay did not reach the goal, he was replaced by Abednego Matilu .
