Kennedy Ochieng (born December 30, 1971 ) is a former Kenyan sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .

At the African Athletics Championships he won the silver medal in Mauritius in 1992 and the gold medal over 400 m in Durban in 1993 . The most significant success of his career he achieved in the 4 x 400 meter relay at the World Athletics Championships in 1993 in Stuttgart . Together with Simon Kemboi , Abednego Matilu and Samson Kitur , he won the silver medal in 2: 59.82 minutes behind the relay of the United States , which set a world record in this race (2: 54.29 minutes). In the 400-meter run, Ochieng finished eighth in Stuttgart. In his following three World Cup participations, he was unable to reach the final.

At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta he reached the quarter-finals over 400 m and the semi-finals with the relay. His last major success was winning the title in the 400-meter run at the 1999 African Games in Johannesburg . Over the same distance, he was injured in the preliminary round of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney .

Kennedy Ochieng was four times Kenyan champion in the 400-meter run (1993, 1997-1999). He is 1.83 m tall and had a competition weight of 73 kg.
