Gabriel Tiacoh (born February 9, 1963 in Abidjan , † April 2, 1992 in Atlanta , Georgia ) was an Ivorian sprinter whose special route was the 400-meter run .

In 1983 he reached the semi-finals at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki . The following year he won the African Athletics Championships in Rabat and was second behind the American Alonzo Babers (44.27 s) at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles with the African record of 44.54 s .

In 1985 he won silver at the African Championships in Cairo , and in 1986 he twice improved the African record to 44.32 s and 44.30 s and was the world's best of the year on his route. At the 1987 World Championships he was seventh. In 1988, another silver medal at the African Championships in Annaba followed the end in the quarter-finals at the Olympic Games in Seoul . As in 1984, he reached the semi-finals with the Ivorian team in the 4 x 400 meter relay .

In 1989 he was sixth at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Budapest and won his second title at the African Championships in Lagos .

Gabriel Tiacoh was 1.80 m tall and weighed 75 kg. On April 4, 1992, he died of meningitis .
