In Kiel he heard the zoological lectures from Johann Christian Fabricius , in Göttingen the botanical lectures from Heinrich Adolf Schrader (1767–1836). Returned to Kiel, he was born on 12 November 1803 with a thesis on Kryptogamen Dr. phil. and then continued his studies on algae and moss . In 1805 he became an adjunct of the Philosophical Faculty of the Christiana Albertina in Kiel and on March 20, 1807 Associate Professor of Zoology and Botany . In Kiel he met Friedrich Weber (1781–1823), son of the doctor and professor of medicine Georg Heinrich Weber . In the Botanical Garden Kiel both Friedrich Weber learned and Heinrich Mohr know botanical basics. In 1810, two years after Mohr's death, Friedrich became the overseer of the Botanical Garden.
