Daniel Pick

Daniel Pick (* 1960 in Great Britain ) is a British historian , psychoanalyst , university professor and author .

Life

Pick graduated from Jesus College , Cambridge with a degree in English as a Tripos before earning a PhD in history from King's College , Cambridge . He was a Research Fellow at Christ's College in Cambridge before going to London as a lecturer at Queen Mary College , where he was most recently a professor. In 1995 he became professor of history at Birkbeck College of the University of London . There he mainly teaches the history of psychoanalysis and psychiatry .

Pick is editor of the History Workshop Journal .
