Constanz von Baltz

Constanz Maximilian Friedrich Baltz , since 1918 von Baltz (born August 9, 1854 in Berlin ; † June 16, 1918 in Trier ) was Prussian district administrator in the district of Gelsenkirchen (1885-1891) and regional president of the administrative district of Magdeburg (1903-1908) and the administrative district Trier (1908-1918).

His father was the master carpenter and architect Eduard Friedrich August Baltz, his mother Johanna Katharina Sprick.

Career

On October 14, 1874, Baltz passed the Abitur at the Wilhelmsgymnasium Berlin , after which he studied law in Heidelberg from 1874 to 1877 . There he was a member of the Corps Saxo-Borussia . His further studies took him to Strasbourg , Leipzig and Berlin . On July 5, 1878, he passed his first state examination in law in Berlin . In July 1878 he completed his studies with a doctorate in Leipzig.

On July 22, 1878, he was appointed court trainee at the Wiesbaden Court of Appeal , and he was sworn in on August 1, 1878 in Eltville . On February 6, 1879, he moved to the higher court in Berlin. In 1880 Baltz began his political career as a government trainee with the government in Magdeburg, in 1881 he moved to the district office and mayor's office in Genthin , and on August 4, 1882, he passed his second state law examination. 1883 promoted to government assessor with the government in Köslin . On May 15, 1885, Baltz received his appointment as provisional district administrator in Gelsenkirchen, on February 21, 1886 as district administrator . On November 21, 1891, he moved to the High Presidium of the Province of Westphalia, where he was promoted to the Government Council on February 17, 1892 . On October 16, 1894, the Berlin Police Headquarters appointed him director of the building department, and on December 19, 1898, he was promoted to the Upper Government Council in Breslau . This was followed by his appointment as district president in Magdeburg on March 16, 1903, Baltz was introduced to his office there on April 1 of that year. On January 6, 1908, he was transferred to Trier as district president, his inauguration was on March 4.

From 1887 to 1894 Baltz was a member of the Provincial Parliament of Westphalia.

family

Baltz married Hermine Amalie Josefa Rive-Schönbeck (* 1869) on September 27, 1887 at the Einsiedel house with Benrath . The marriage resulted in two sons, Walter (* 1888) and Richard (1893–1915).
