Alfred Georg Bake , von Bake since 1907 (born March 8, 1854 in Belgershain ; † April 12, 1934 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a Prussian civil servant.

Bake was the son of the landowner Theodor Bake (1815–1890), landlord on Teuchern ( Burgenlandkreis ) and others, and Agnes Malwine Heyne.

Bake graduated from the Thomas School in Leipzig in 1874 . He then did his military service as a one-year volunteer in Schleswig-Holstein's Uhlan Regiment No. 15. He then served as a reserve officer. On April 14, 1878 he was second lieutenant of the Magdeburg cuirassier regiment No. 7 and later premier lieutenant of the Landwehr cavalry.

In the following years he studied law in Heidelberg , Strasbourg , Leipzig and at the University of Halle-Wittenberg . He completed this with the examination as a trainee lawyer at the Court of Appeal in Naumburg (Saale) .

As a government trainee, he worked from 1880, initially for the Wiesbaden government and later in Merseburg . In 1883 he passed the exam for government assessor with the grade "sufficient". In the same year, on August 1, 1883, he married the factory owner's daughter Maria Ewald   (born January 25, 1862 in Odenkirchen ; † August 16, 1943) in Rüdesheim , they had two children:

  • Toska von Bake (born September 6, 1884 in Kassel ; † March 16, 1970 in Konstanz ; ⚭ October 8, 1904 in Trier with Erwin Theodor von Kaulla (1877–1956)). Parents of the actor, book and screenwriter Guido von Kaulla (1909–1991);
  • Werner von Bake (born December 9, 1887 in Sankt Goarshausen; † died as a member of the German front-line aviators in 1916).

As an assessor he was employed by the government in Kassel . In 1886 he was initially entrusted with the administration of the District Office in St. Goarshausen on a provisional basis and shortly afterwards . In 1891 he moved to the Saarbrücken district in the same position .

In 1899 Bake returned to the Wiesbaden government. There he was a senior government councilor and deputy district president . From 1903 he was the district president in Trier . On August 6, 1907 with a diploma dated September 29, 1907, he was raised to the Prussian hereditary nobility in Rominten . From January 6, 1908 until his retirement on September 30, 1919, he served as district president in Arnsberg .

Bake was a member of the Westphalian Antiquities Association , the Westphalian Provincial Association for Science and Art, the Historical Association for Dortmund and the County of Mark and the Provincial Committee for the Preservation of Natural Monuments of the Province of Westphalia .

His brother was the landowner and Prussian state economist Theodor von Bake (1849–1921), who was raised to the hereditary Prussian nobility on January 27, 1906. His nephew was the landlord in Pessin and on Bakerode Alfred Egon Gustav von Bake (* 1888).
