Friedrich Ernst von Schwerin (1863–1936)

Friedrich Ernst von Schwerin (born June 4, 1863 in Kattowitz , † August 16, 1936 in Berlin ) was a Prussian civil servant.

Origin and family

He came from the Mecklenburg and Pomeranian nobility of Schwerin . The father was Alexander Magnus Caesar Eduard Wilhelm von Schwerin , the mother Henriette Emilie Karoline (née Wittich) .

Live and act

Von Schwerin passed his school-leaving certificate in 1882 at the Knight's Academy in Liegnitz . He then studied law and political science in Tübingen and Berlin . During his studies he became a member of the Association of German Students in Berlin . After passing the examination to become a court trainee (1885) and government assessor (1891), he served as a one-year volunteer with the 2nd Guards Regiment on foot and retired as captain of the reserve. As a government assessor, von Schwerin worked for the government in Bromberg and was transferred to the district administration in Stade in 1891. In the following years he changed his place of employment and the authority several times. Among other things, he worked for the government in Cologne , the police department and government in Danzig . In 1898 he was first provisional and from 1899 then a regular district administrator of the Tarnowitz district . In 1905, von Schwerin was appointed senior councilor in Münster . In 1907 he was regional president of Arnsberg for a few months before he took over the same office in the administrative district of Opole . In 1915, von Schwerin finally became district president in Potsdam and retired in 1917. In addition to his direct official work, he was curator of the hygienic institute in Bytom .

Honors

Von Schwerin received various medals and other state honors and was an honorary citizen of Opole .
